Job title: Senior Environmental Educator

Hours: 22+ hrs per week

Pay: £14/hr

Duties:

Initially the successful applicant will be taking over the running of five after-school Wildlife/Bushcraft Clubs at primary schools in Edinburgh. Our Clubs are designed to introduce children to their local wild places and spark a passion for wildlife, and involve many varied and fun activities. These clubs are core hours and run Mon-Thurs 3:30-5:30 and Fridays 1-3. During the school day you may also take on the role of helping to deliver a variety of environmental teaching projects, and in the school holidays assisting in the running of full-day wildlife clubs. In the winter months you will be involved in the creation of wildlife friendly areas in school grounds – from planting trees to building raised beds and making ponds.

Job purpose: The purpose of this role is to inspire and enthuse children and young adults about the natural world, whilst encouraging schools to embrace outdoor learning.
